"C'mon. Let's play a game!"
— Mii, Tomodachi Life

Islander mini-games are featured in Tomodachi Collection and Tomodachi Life. Islander mini-games are marked by green problem icons on their window. When the player selects a Mii's window, they will be very excited (in Life, the Mii might be Worried if the player waits for long). Upon entering their apartment, the Mii will ask the player to play a game with them, and they can either agree or disagree.

Sometimes, when currently interacting with a Mii after a Mii is given something, they might say to the player, "Since you're already here, let's play a game!", and they will be prompted to play a game similar to the green problem icon.

Success or a draw will grant the player one of three random treasures, while failure will result in receiving either a box of tissues or toilet paper. If the player succeeds, the Mii says "You did it! Congratulations!", and if they fail, the Mii says "Oh well. Better luck next time." (US) "Too bad! Maybe next time." (UK)

Butt-writing quiz Choose a correct answer from the four choices. Can you answer all three questions? The Mii will use their bottom to write letters of a word, and the player will pick one of the four objects that has that wrote word. If the player picks the wrong image, the player will lose the game. If the player picks the right image, the player will proceed to the next 2 quizzes. On the third quiz, the Mii will try to distract the player from concentrating by talking about a different subject.
Butt Writing 1
The Daruma Doll Fell Down! Try to move closer when the Mii isn't looking. You will keep walking as long as you touch the button. You win if you can touch the Mii. When the Mii says "The daruma doll...", the player will walk to them and touch them, resulting in winning the game. When they say "Fell down!", if the player does not stop walking to them, The Mii will say "[Mii's] splitting image is moving!", resulting in losing the game. The game noticeably plays similar to "Red Light Green Light", a popular children's game. When the time goes up, The player loses and says "Times Up" instead of "Lose...".
The Daruma Doll 2
Cards Play Old Maid. The one who has a full pair first wins.(TC)
Take turns picking a card from your opponent's hand. The first to make a pair wins!(TL)
A simple mini-game where the goal is to get both two red cards, two of diamonds and two of hearts (kings in EU) cards. There is also a joker card (two of hearts in EU) that can be exchanged if the player does not pick the other two of diamonds/hearts/king card. If the player has picked the joker, it can be swiped up to try and trick the Mii into picking it again. The Mii that the player is up against will sometimes give hints or will try to trick the player by winking, that will sometimes tell the player that the card that it's hand is hovering over is the red card. If the Mii picks the red card, the game is over.

Catch If you catch the item before it hits the floor, you get to keep it as a prize! If you miss, you get... Disapointment. The Mii drops a treasure and the player has to try and catch it. If the player manages to catch it, the prize is whatever the player caught. Sometimes, the Mii will tell the player something to distract them and then drop the item so the player will hardly notice. Other times, the Mii will drop the item, but then pull it back up with a string saying "Oh, it was attached to the string. Weird." The player has only two chances to catch the item.

When the Mii opens his/her eyes and says "Ah...!", move the feather away from the nose. If the Mii does not sneeze within the time allowed (about 20 seconds), then they will say either "Darn, I lost it" (US) or "No... It's gone," (EU) and the Mii will not gain happiness.

Trivia

  • The player is unable to skip text in the "Catch" minigame. This is likely because the Mii may randomly drop the item and they need to concentrate.
  • In both Tomodachi Collection and Tomodachi Collection: New Life, when losing hearts in the Match mini-game; they lose from left to right. In Tomodachi Life, it's right to left.
  • In both Tomodachi Collection and Tomodachi Collection New Life, when winning the card game the player does a peace sign while in Tomodachi Life, it's changed to a thumbs-up, possibly because the hand was facing to the front which may appear in the U.K. as offensive.
