Personality Tomodachi — The personality question screen

Every Mii has a personality. The personality of a Mii is determined by a quiz when the character is created. There are sliders for the following criteria: Movement, Speech, Expressiveness, Attitude, and if the Mii is overall quirky or normal.

There are four personality categories, and each category has 4 sub-categories, making 16 personality categories in total. A Mii always falls into one sub-category. And if another Mii greets a Mii with the same personality, they could be friends. However, two Miis who do not have the same personality can still become friends.

The Mii's idle pose is different depending on what their personality is, and the way they walk also depends on the personality that comes with it. The pose they perform when their confessed love is accepted or succeeding with a proposal depends on their personality as well.

The Mii's starting room and pose are affected by what personality they are. When a child is born, the color of their clothes is determined on the personality they are given. When a child is ready to move into their own apartment their personality will determine the color of the starting clothes they get as well.

When two Miis get married, the personality "combination" of the two also determines the interior design and roof color of their house.

EU/AU have different names for the different types, but the interaction of Miis will all be the same. In the European version the personalities names are as follows:

Easygoing	Softie
Looks: Gentle Character: Relaxed, kind and honest. Sensitive and innocent	A born mood-maker. Their happiness rubs off on everybody. However, their bad moods can influence others too.
Easygoing	Optimist
Looks: Gentle Character: Relaxed, kind and honest. Sensitive and innocent	Always beaming. They not smile for themselves, they also make sure everybody else has fun too.

Looks: Gentle Character: Relaxed, kind and honest. Sensitive and innocent	Looks after everybody and works hard to make sure they all get along. Always trusting others can make them vulnerable.
Easygoing	Dreamer
Looks: Gentle Character: Relaxed, kind and honest. Sensitive and innocent	Laid-back and free spirited. Lives at their own pace and never rushes into anything. Deep down they may worry a lot.
Energetic	Charmer
Looks: Outgoing Character: Spontaneous, impulsive and excitable. Goes with the flow, optimistic	A popular person. Always lively and appears to be having fun, but secretly has to work to maintain their image.

In the official website there is a personality quiz that people can take even if they have the game or not. The results are listed below each with their ideal match, best-matching room, and perfect costume. In Miitomo, the personalities are the same, but Buddy is changed to Confidant and Free-Spirit is changed to Individualist.

Life Personalities

Personalities play a role in interaction with other Miis. The different personalities of each Mii will determine how they act, who they get along or do not get along with, who they will have a successful relationship with, and their likes and dislikes on items such as clothing and Interiors.
