Word Chain is an event in the European and Japanese versions of Tomodachi Life. Word Chain takes place at the Fountain. A category will be chosen at the beginning of the game, such as general word association or food association. Two Miis will then come up with words that begin with the letter that the previous word ended with. An example word chain would be: Tortilla → Abacus → Stewed beef → Fried egg. If either Mii repeats a word that has already been said, they will automatically lose.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life features a similar event named Shiritori in which Miis will say a word which begins with the final kana of the previous word.

The American versions of Tomodachi Life also features Rap Battle , a seperate event that is similar to Word Chain.
